A Complete Acoustic Range for Workspaces
Soneo is a family of three modern acoustic products designed to assist the workspace and control unwanted travelling sounds.
The Soneo Acoustic Range
- Soneo Desk Dividers: Effective sound-absorbing table screens that create individual focus zones at the workstation.
- Soneo Floor Standing: Flexible free-standing screens that define traffic routes, meeting areas, and breakout zones. The tall panels can be connected to create a desk-surround booth for enhanced privacy.
- Soneo Wall Panels: Wall-mounted panels that can be used to treat hard surfaces or arranged to form wrap-around acoustic nooks for intensive deep-work tasks.
Inside Soneo Acoustic Panels
- Soneo Desk 30: 30mm thick desktop dividing panel with solid wood frame. Its core is made from textile waste and polyester reclaimed from recycled PET bottles.
- Soneo Floor Screen: Available in 30mm and 50mm. Soneo 30 core made from textile waste and recycled PET bottles. Soneo 50 offers increased acoustic performance with a rock wool core, fully recyclable.
- Soneo Wall: 30mm, 50mm or 100mm thick panels with a rock wool acoustic filling and wooden frame.

The 75m² Workspace Example
For a 75m² office with 6 desk users, we target 7.5m² of effective sound absorption (10% of floor space).
- 6 x Soneo Desk Screens W1600 x H30 x H650mm (N10: 9.9): Total: 6.06m²
- 2 x Soneo Floor Screens W1000 x D50 x H1700mm (N10: 4.4): Total: 4.54m²
- 3 x Soneo Wall Panels W1000 x D50 x H1000mm (N10: 11.1): Total: 2.7m²
While the desk screens provide a significant initial acoustic footprint, we recommend combining them with floor and wall panels to reach and exceed the 7.5m² target. Together, these elements provide approximately 13.3m² of effective sound absorption, comfortably creating a productive environment. The wall panels can be positioned on walls in different areas, that effectively reduces sound from travelling between different areas.
Important Information Regarding Acoustic Estimations: The acoustic guidelines provided on this website are for a starter estimation purposes only and do not take existing building or furniture properties into account. We base our targets on the N10 metric, aiming for a sound absorption area equivalent to 10% and more of the room’s floor space. Unlike NRC percentages (often cited at 15-25% for flat 2D wall/ceiling panels, carpets and textured walls), N10 is specifically engineered for 3D furniture. Because furniture, screens and 3D panels act as efficient vertical barriers, targeting 10% of your floor area provides effective acoustic zoning with significantly less product. If your requirement is for flat wall panels only, then we would suggest covering 15-25% of the office space.
Please note that these figures represent a suggested acoustic baseline. Actual performance is influenced by:
- Room Architecture: Ceiling height, hard reflective surfaces, and floor coverings.
- Office Density and Usage: Number of personnel, activity levels, and layout.
- Existing Treatments: Other existing acoustic elements like ceiling baffles or soft furnishings.
For projects where acoustic privacy is critical, or for spaces with unusual dimensions and materials, we recommend consulting an acoustic engineer. Urban Office provides these calculations as a starting point to assist with your planning and product selection, and they do not constitute a professional acoustic performance guarantee.
